Wrexham, Shropshire & Marylebone Railway services commence

On Monday 28th April, WSMR services commenced, using MkIII stock hired in from Cargo-D. WSMRs refurbished rolling stock is still being completed, so the decision was taken to commence services using an 'interim' fleet on the originally planned inception date.

This offered the best solution, whereby identical stock could be used on the timetabled services between Wrexham and London Marylebone as well as allowing WSMR to launch without delay.

Cargo-D was delighted to be able to offer WSMR the coaching stock support it required. The interim fleet will continue to be used until the refurbished fleet is completed.
